DayNote. A clinic day, written down without the names.

DayNote is a private activity log for one clinician in a paediatric allergy clinic. Cerner holds the patient record. DayNote holds what the day was like — who came, what was pricked, what happened next. It never holds a name.

It’s built for one person, so it can be opinionated. There’s no sign-up page. Sign-in is a passkey, with a password only as the fallback.

An entry is the shape of a patient, not the patient

Seven steps: who came, skin prick, other tests, medications, autoinjector, outcome, notes. Age in years and months, a gender, what was already known. Nothing that could point back to a child.

The first step of a new entry. The heading asks who did you see, with the line: just the shape of them, no names, ever. Below it are a date, an attended toggle, gender, age in years and months, and rows of buttons for known allergies and conditions.
Who did you see? Just the shape of them.

The arm, as it sits on the skin

The skin prick step asks whether the controls worked before it asks about a single allergen. The rule that turns a wheal into a positive is a setting — BSACI and WAO, or the European standard — and changing it recalculates old summaries without touching the measurements that were recorded.

The year so far

The home screen adds it up: patients seen, who didn’t attend, tests performed, autoinjector trainings by device. The same totals export as a CSV for appraisal.

The home screen for the last twelve months across all clinics. A large figure of 183 patients seen, then four smaller totals: 7% did not attend, 25 autoinjector trainings, 172 tests performed, 30 clinic days. Below, two bar lists: what happened next, and tests performed.
Twelve months, all clinics. Every number here comes from seeded data.
The journal, listing entries grouped by clinic day. Each row shows an age, the allergens and tests recorded as small tags, and an outcome such as discharged, see again in six months, or listed for food challenge.
The journal. Nothing on this page is a real patient.
